Self-Care:

what is it and

what do I do?

Self-Care is defined by each of us differently. We all think of different ways to care for ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally, but caring for yourself is very important. Not everyone takes this position and unfortunately, in my opinion, they are the ones that pay the ultimate price in caring for others. 

Self- care can be defined as:

  • Going for a walk
  • Treating yourself to an ice cream or other sweet
  • Getting a massage
  • Listening to your favorite program
  • Getting your nails or hair done
  • Going on a vacation or a trip to the store alone
  • Reading a book in peace and quiet
  • Canning fruits or vegetables
  • Knitting, sewing, or crocheting
  • Taking a much needed nap
  • Soaking in a tub with all the fixing
